21 Aout - Opera, Printemps, Bastille, Vosage, Bercy, Pantheon, tea at Mosque

We got off le metro at the opera house and walked to Printemps for a 10am fashion show that nobody knew about.  We shopped and shopped. I was actually going to buy something until they said I'd have to pay 1.50 euro for Haley to go the bathroom.  That resulted in a bit of swear words, cheap place that wants you to spend lots of money for little service.  We stormed out of there the best you can out of a maize, as I was mentioning that Norstroms is so much better.  I looked online at the shoes I wanted that were hard to find and more expensive, might discretely go back to get - maybe.  I get so annoyed on the right bank.  I think I remember a similar scene back in 1980, think I remember the same snotty bathroom place.

LOL we tried on some hats at a store and got in trouble for taking pictures in them!

We stopped for a crepe and espresso across from Trinity Church

can see Sacred Cour

St Denis

Strasbourg

On our way to the Place de la Republique and Bastille, there was construction, gambling places, guys picking their nose, an old guy with a festering sore on his neck, a guy scratching his hairy belly, a lollipop place with no candy only lace windows - not my fav walk.  Note most the time we see stylish, beautiful males and females - France has amazing good looking people.  Just on this walk - not so stylish.

Birds act the same everywhere!

After walking we feel healthier, well except it feels like we have smoked 3 packs of cigarettes.  Many, Many people smoke here - old, young, male, female.  They can be seen walking with cigarettes, in cafes smoking, really anytime is good for this nicotine obsessed county.

20 Aout Monday - Champs Elysee, Arc de Triomphe, Concert at Notre Dame

Thank Goodness - Rain!  Not much rain but cooled down the weather.  You can't see the dark clouds but they were really dark, but it only rained for a few minutes then stopped!

Hallway to Arc de Triumph

Under Arc de Triumph

Haley LOVES Laduree its known for their macaroons

Heidi at Louis 25 cafe, getting sick and tired of all the snotty la dotty and the $6 espressos, not like it is kona coffee!
A crazy long line just to get  into Abercrombie & Fitch! At the end you get to take a picture with two Abercrombie models!

long walk from Arc de Triomphe, pass the Place de la Condorde along rue Royale towards the Place de la Madeleine because Haley forgot to get Diane some macroons, easy enough because the Laduree store along the Champs des Elysees was under construction so we went in a trailer (nicely decorated, but reminded me of the SC fair).  So on Rue Royale there was another store where I was also able to get a cookbook.  Guess what I'll be cooking ~ french sweets!  Yum!

On the Place de la Concorde was the US Embassy

On the right, all the way down is the Laduree store

Heidi tired after a long day of walking and shopping in heels!

Treats from Laduree it was really hard to get a picture before it was all gone!
 Notre Dame at night time
